How it works (plain English)
Blocks the PDE5 enzyme to improve blood flow in erectile tissue; noted for a longer duration of action than sildenafil.
Key risks
Headache, back/muscle aches, flushing, indigestion; rare priapism and sudden sensory changes.
Who should not use it
Concurrent nitrate therapy; certain cardiovascular conditions.
Drug interactions
Hypotension with nitrates and alpha-blockers; levels affected by CYP3A4 inhibitors.
