- Topical: scalp irritation, unwanted facial hair, shedding when starting. Oral (off-label): fluid retention, increased heart rate, low blood pressure.
- Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity; caution with cardiovascular disease for oral use.
- Drug interactions
- Oral minoxidil may have additive effects with other blood-pressure-lowering agents.
